Chamberlain Professional Products conducted a survey that revealed 45percent of Americans are thinking about remolding their garages. Builders are saying that garages are getting bigger and bigger and a three car garage is the garage that most people have. The same survey said that 18 percent of Americans have already made plans to remodel or expand their garages and 80 percent are willing to pay as much as $5,000. This survey included 1,000 Americans. “Keller predicts that this trend is just beginning. ‘As people become more comfortable with the idea that the garage is just another room in the house, these ‘extreme garages' will eventually become the norm’” (Tom Wadsworth). More security in garages and garage doors is becoming more and more popular. “According to the survey, 68 percent of respondents expressed that the most-desired feature in a garage door opener is the function to automatically turn on the garage light, hands free, when entering the garage from inside the home” (Wadsworth).
