Our family has been serving Virginia families since 1973. All of our technicians are trained, trusted, dedicated employees. As we have grown and expanded throughout Virginia, our name has become synonymous with quality, craftsmanship and trust.
Apple Door was founded in 1973 by Hubert Apple, Jr. Originally, the firm began operating as an overhead door service company in Richmond, Virginia. In 1978, Hubert's son, Dan Apple, joined the firm and began expanding the company's focus to include sales and distribution of new doors and related products. During the years Apple Door has grown from Hubert's one man operation working out of his mobile home to Virginia's largest independent door dealer. By the mid 1980's Apple Door was the premier door company in Richmond. In 1989 the first satellite store in Mt. Crawford was opened to serve the western part of the state. It was followed in 1990 by the first Charlottesville store and in 1992, the two stores merged and became Apple Door of Waynesboro. Today Apple Door stores are in Richmond, Chesapeake, Fredericksburg, Waynesboro and Williamsburg. In 1998 Apple Door Systems had the honor of becoming the first fully accredited door dealer in the United States. This distinction is symbolic of the company's high professional ethics and was granted by the Institute for Door Dealer Education and Accreditation.
In 2012, the Apple family sold the final location making all stores independently owned and operated. While the company has undergone many changes over the years, the company's commitment to providing the best door repair service in Virginia has not. The company's greatest asset is a staff of long term professionals that understand the meaning of good customer service and strive to give it every single day. Our people are what separate Apple Door from other companies and are what will allow us to continue to grow and give back to our communities all while providing superior products and services that meet the residential and commercial needs of the Virginians we serve.
