Having your garage door weather stripping replaced is very important when it comes to cold weather. It’s something most homeowners may not think about but it can save you a lot of trouble down the road. At the base of your garage door is a long piece of weather stripping that seals your garage from the outside elements. Over time, this weather stripping gets old and no longer serves it purpose of preventing cold air, water and even freezing rain from getting into your garage. If water leaks underneath and freezes, the weather stripping will cause your garage door to get stuck to the ground. It could also tear off when you raise the door causing some of the garage door parts to buckle in the process.

Another part of weather stripping for your garage door is most commonly called the trim. This goes up both sides and across the top of your garage door. This too over time can become worn, torn or brittle and will need to be replaced as well. Take a look at all of these parts and determine if you need to replace them before the weather gets too cold.

If your door is in need of repair or service, Apple Door Systems would be more than happy to help you get prepared for the winter season. Give us a call at 804-674-7774 or visit one of our showrooms! #teamappledoor
